Regulatory & Compliance

We help regulated and fast-growing companies interpret new rules, enter markets and build compliance systems that can survive real operational pressure.

How we help

Advice designed for the way the business actually operates.

Regulatory advice needs to answer two questions: what is legally required, and what should the business actually build or change. We work with leadership, product, operations and compliance teams to convert regulatory requirements into controls, decision rights and evidence that can be maintained over time.

For market entry, we assess whether a product or service triggers licensing, registration or local establishment requirements and coordinate the steps required before launch. Where the regulatory perimeter is uncertain, we frame the commercial choices and risk so management can make an informed decision.

We also help clients build internal compliance programmes covering policies, training, monitoring, escalation, third-party risk and board reporting. The focus is proportionate governance: enough structure to manage risk without creating a process that the business will simply work around.

When regulators make enquiries or an issue is discovered internally, we support fact-finding, remediation, communications and engagement with authorities. Cross-border matters are coordinated through one lead team while local requirements are handled jurisdiction by jurisdiction.

How we run matters

Define the perimeter

We identify which activities, entities and customer groups bring the business within scope.

Build evidence, not paperwork

Controls are designed to generate records that show how decisions were made and obligations were met.

Plan for scrutiny

We test whether the programme would make sense to a regulator, auditor or board member looking at it after an incident.

Representative experience

Representative matter

Advised a fintech business entering three EEA markets on licensing perimeter, outsourcing governance, customer disclosures, complaints handling and management reporting.

Cross-border delivery

Lexbridge teams coordinate matters through our offices in Berlin, London, Brussels, Bratislava, Prague, Amsterdam and Dublin. Where local law advice is required outside our own coverage, we instruct specialist local counsel while retaining a single Lexbridge lead for scope, communication and delivery.

That structure gives clients one accountable team without pretending that complex cross-border work can be reduced to a single jurisdiction. It also allows legal advice to stay aligned with commercial timelines, product launches and board decisions.

“The useful answer is not only what the law says. It is what the business should do next, who should own it and what evidence should remain.”
